Atelier de Troupe is a Los Angeles-based lighting and furniture design studio founded by Gabriel Abraham and Ji Shin. Renowned for lyrical lines and fine craftsmanship, their designs are all handmade in the company's own workshops. Atelier de Troupe collaborates regularly with architects and interior designers to create bespoke commissions for specific projects.
Before the husband-and-wife team established the company in 2011, Abraham was an art director for commercials and movies, and Shin worked as a portrait photographer. The couple draws inspiration from French and Italian films of the 1960s, finding sympathetic sensibilities in the work of such directors as Michelangelo Antonioni, Luis Buñuel, and Jean-Pierre Melville.
