Shown in walnut, clear and smoked mirror and hand-blackened steel
DESCRIPTION
Emulating the calm after the storm, the Waterline Mirror was designed for the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. As Red Hook was one of the hardest hit neighborhoods in New York City the design is an homage to the aftermath of the superstorm and the resiliency of the Red Hook community. The subtle transition of wood to metal and the plain mirror to smoky grey create a division of elements, an atmospheric change in which the crisp waterline exists solely in congruency with the sky.
Available in custom sizes and finishes. Hand built to order, signed and numbered by the maker in Red Hook, Brooklyn and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
