Studio Gala's SUZURI Series features tableware from Ogatsu-cho in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, which is known for it's quality stone, in particular, Gensho Stone. Gensho Stone, which is clay slate that formed a few hundred million years ago, has been used since the Muromachi Era (1336-1573) in the production of ink stones, and is noted for its beautiful, black color. The SUZURI Series made from this beautiful stone has been a best-seller since 1982, and has been used in a number of first-class restaurants and hotels.
