Bendheim imports its chemically etched glass from factories employing environmentally sound production technologies. One or both sides of clear or colored float glass are placed in an acid bath. The process produces an ultra-smooth etched surface highly resistant to dirt and smudges. This translucent glass is satin-like in appearance. Unlike glass that has been sandblasted and coated, acid etched glass is permanent, extremely consistent and maintenance friendly. Its fine surface is less porous than sandblasted surface, making it far more resistant to fingerprints and stains.
May be strengthened and made into safety glass through tempering and laminating.
Standard annealed glass maximum sheet size is 94" W x 130" H, with approximate thickness of 1/4". Tempered maximum sheet size is 69" W x 130" H, with approximate thickness of 1/4”. When laminated, the maximum sheet size is 84" W x 120" H, and the approximate thickness is 3/8”.
Etched glass is available in many different options:
• Fully-etched
• Lightly-etched
• Colored etched
• Patterned etched
• Single-side etched
• Double-side etched
• Low-iron etched
