Malm_ transport hubs

The redevelopment of Malmo Central train station included a large-scale pedestrian tunnel and two new satellite stations. Nola was commissioned to manufacture public seating for the project, and produced custom versions of the Origami bench by Torbjorn Andersson and the Goal backed bench by Thomas Bernstrand. The No 2 bench by Olle Anderson was redesigned for bus shelters and waiting areas. Nola litterbins were also placed throughout the sites. The Elbin litterbins designed by Andreas Sture and Olle Anderson provided containers for general waste while Foga recycling bins by Eva Herdin were laser-cut with words that helped visitors sort items for recycling.

Material
The Origami backed bench is made in oiled Ipe wood. The supporting braces are made in 8 mm sheet steel. The steel is zinc-electroplated, gold-chromed and powder-coated in RAL 6012.

The Goal backed bench's frame, seat and backrests are made
from tubular steel. The seat and backrest slats can be made in pine.

Standard versions of the No2 bench are made with steel parts in the frame and armrests are sand-blasted, zinc-electroplated and polyester powder-coated in grey RAL 7016. The slats are made in alkyd oil enamelled pine, oiled oak or oiled teak

The Elbin litterbin is made in anodised aluminium and zinc-electroplated, chromed and powder-coated in standard colours. The base is made in standard grey concrete or terrazzo concrete. The body and base are powder-coated in standard colour light grey Gris 150 Sable.

The Foga litterbin is made in steel sheet with a thickness of 3 mm. The bag holder is made in 5 mm steel. The 80-litre bin is fitted with wheels made in plastic.
