Since its launch in the early 1970s, EJ 220 has been a trend-setter with its low boxy frame, narrow armrests and casual appearance. The idea was to create a sofa that offered high seating comfort and easy aesthetic appeal. The attempt was highly successful, and EJ 220 is still one of Erik Jargensenas best-selling sofas. In 2012 the sofa received a minor facelift in the form of large buttons in the back cushions that give the sofa a less severe expression.
