Diafos, Dee-Ah-Fos, a synthetic word meaning light from two sides describes the first translucent high pressure laminate 1987. Several layers of melamine impregnated papers overlay a base color rendering a sherbet effect. Some items of this collection are completely translucent. Others have a backing sheet which allows them to be adhered to substrate. Some are solid colors; others have a silk screened pattern embedded among the sheets.
