HullOled by TSG Essempio
Essempio, the design studio of the Total Support Group (TSG Group) from the Netherlands, creates this amazing luminaire for Philips Lumiblade. The shape of this remarkable luminaire is based on the hull of a ship. The light sources used in the design are the square shaped Philips Lumiblade OLED panels GL350. That's why this luminaire is called the HullOled.
A unique aspect of any OLED is the thinness of the light source. To emphasize this, the designers of Essempio decided to place the OLED separately in ten organic arms. This in combination with the dynamic hull shape of the central part creates the impression of floating lamp.
OLEDs are a large-area diffuse light source. Their homogenous output, unusual appearance, low heat emission, extremely flat nature and high degree of controllability makes them unique in the lighting industry. These factors open up endless opportunities to create groundbreaking new lighting concepts and experiences, which will in turn provide consumers with dramatic and unexpected ways to create atmosphere in a room.
