Stepping Out Chair & Ottoman

The Stepping Out Chair & Ottoman the indoor/outdoor seating design in Think Fabricate’s Stepping Stones collection. The product takes its name from the unique cutouts and shapes of stepping-stones on a garden path and blends unique architecture with furniture design. Stepping Out is built using sustainable materials and explores a new, highly durable approach to the rounded edge detail, which distinguishes the line. The rounded corners shaped out of solid teak give the chair the durability necessary for heavy-duty use not only for outdoors but also in residential, hospitality, and commercial interior applications. The wood is finished in teak oil and the end caps in a waterborne satin lacquer. The Stepping Out Chair contrasts natural Afromosia, or FSC certified teak, wrapping the structural form, with an engraved pattern of ducks on the end cap, taken from a historical calendar, imprinted in a modern day sustainable material, Richlite. This pattern has previously appeared as silk screen printing in Think Fabricate’s Wall*Nuts collection and is transformed here in three-dimensions. To integrate the entire Stepping Stones collection, the shape of the new Footsie Ottoman enables two chairs to face each other, sharing a footrest for more fun indoors and outdoors!
