Bendheim has collaborated with Robert A.M. Stern Architects and a leading Italian etched glass manufacturer to create Merletto, one of four etched pattern glasses produced on ultra-clear low-iron float glass, utilizing technologically advanced methods with particular attention to the strictest environmental protection standards.
Merletto draws inspiration from some of nature’s most dramatic forms – electrical pulses and biomorphic forms – as well as the modern visual arts. Its distinctive, fine linear design gracefully adds sparkle and punch to interior spaces.
Etched on both sides of the glass, the design lend a strong sense of dimensionality and movement, allowing the glass to dynamically interact with light and surrounding design elements. The permanent non-coated surface is naturally resistant to fingerprints and staining over the lifetime of the product.
Merletto is available in three standard thicknesses: 1/4” (6 mm), 3/8” (10 mm), and 1/2” (12 mm), in sheets up to 88.5 by 126 inches (225 cm x 320 cm).
