Manufacturer's Product Description

While not actual glass, polycarbonate security glass is optimal for exterior windows because of its resistance to forced entry. However, it has poor light transmission. A sheet of polycarbonate will withstand repeated strikes from a sledgehammer where its acrylic counterpart cannot. Polycarbonate can be coated with an abrasion resistant layer which affords it increased protection from solvents, weather, and UV light.
