Our Kuba cloth is made by the Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Leaves of the raffia tree are woven into raffia cloth, which is then embroidered with geometric designs. The meticulous weaving technique means every small square of Kuba cloth takes about a month to complete. These vintage squares of Kuba cloth are each unique, and encased in a walnut shadow-box frame with an archival-quality black backing.
