The Massangis Aged Romain Pattern consists of Massangi Beige Claire limestone which is quarried from a bedrock quarry in Bourgogne, France. It has been used in buildings in France for hundreds of years, from cladding and sidewalks, to flooring and sculptures. France is known for its excellent wine and in the middle of the Bourgary Region where the Massangis limestone is quarried. Similar to wine, the French take great pride in producing limestone with a rich look and feel, and exacting quality. The chiseled edges and tumbled finish give this limestone a unique look and feel. This is a sedimentary stone that is formed in shallow seas and is composed mainly of calcite calcium carbonate. One of the unique characteristics of this limestone is the existence of some small shells and fossils that may appear throughout
the tile. There can be noticeable variances between pieces, so it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase. As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity. In addition, because this limestone is very porous, a sealer or grout release must be used before grouting. Miracle Sealants “Porous Plus” is what we recommend to be applied 24 hours before grouting. This will make grouting easier and the clean up faster.
