Photographic practice allows Ludwig Favre to record 'slices of life' that he likes to capture in a spontaneous way, in the course of his many travels. His nonetheless sophisticated pictures bear witness to the great care he takes in choosing his framing, emphasising and imposing his subjects' existence. He also pays special attention to the role and intensity of the colours in the representation of space. Significant nuances of tone considerably accentuate the forms and depth of the landscapes photographed. Particularly appreciating the low rays of the evening and morning, the artist applies a somewhat nostalgic soft tonality to his photographs that evokes the passage of time.
