Description

Acquired by Herman Miller in 2009, Nemschoff manufactures healthcare furniture with cutting-edge design, which makes their products also specified for commercial office and education markets. With specific strengths in soft seating and patient design, Nemschoff is committed to creating “adaptive environments across the care continuum that are better for patients and smarter for business.” The company’s headquarters are located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, with additional manufacturing in Sioux Center, Iowa.

  • JR 200— Designed for children’s waiting areas, JR 200 is a bright, fun collection of kid-sized chairs and tables. Primary colors and simple shapes make JR 200 a welcome respite from other healthcare fare. This is made for pint-sized patients, and its commitment to them is obvious thanks to JR 200’s dynamic design. Constructed of molded maple, JR 200 includes a chair with a circular backrest and upholstered seat, each of a different color than the chair. The group also includes a round table and a toy chest on wheels.
  • Oasis— Winner of a Best of NeoCon Gold Award in Healthcare Furniture, Oasis Overbed Table knows how important this piece of furniture is to patient comfort. By offering convenient storage to organize medical items, Oasis leaves a maximum amount of personal space available to the patient: “Oasis Overbed Table eliminates overcrowding patients, limiting guests, or inhibiting caregivers.” Highly maneuverable with rounded edges and casters, Oasis gives easy access to caregivers as well.
  • Sleepover Flop Sofa— Stylish and comfortable, the Sleepover Flop Sofa lets family members stay in the patient room without sacrificing sleep. Back cushions fold over to create a large sleeping surface, with the sofa’s armrests adding extra length—they sit at the same height as the opened bed. Available in five styles, the Sleepover Flop Sofa “will complement a variety of room settings.” And its generous storage compartments accommodate bedding and visitor’s personal effects. Constructed of solid maple, the Sleepover Flop Sofa should last a long time, especially given its removable seat and back covers and replaceable components.

The Nemschoff product line “is the deepest and widest in the industry.” Patient and children’s furniture, physician and bariatric seating, and lounge and guest seating—Nemschoff has it all in both traditional and bold designs. Evolving partnerships with other companies and designers ensure that the company can expand “to address the entire care continuum.”
