Description

Since 1980, Joseph Noble has offered discerning designers and clients a wide variety of luxury fabrics for contract markets: “Year after year, Joseph Noble’s new collections capture industry attention for innovation, design and color, but just as importantly, for quality.”

  • Enigma: Part of the 2013 Collection, Enigma is the perfect upholstery fabric for clients desiring something “visually frisky, playful and spirited.” Unique tessellated shapes with an “inexact outline” give the fabric a sense of dynamism, as if the pattern is in motion. Available in seven colorways, Enigma complements contemporary interiors. Coral Belief and gray Incognito look chic and modern in hotel lobbies and guest rooms, while gold Desire and green Gravity look crisp and subtle in corporate offices.
  • For Certain: Part of Joseph Noble’s Technology Leather Collection, For Certain features a pattern of “perfectly ‘engraved’ one-inch circles, uniformly aligned both vertically and horizontally and nestled against each other.” For Certain partially gets its name from the material’s durability: the earth-friendly polyurethane is easy to clean and maintain, and it wear tests at over 100,000 double rubs. But the name also stems from the material’s elusive shimmer: at some angles, For Certain looks metallic—making the viewer, paradoxically, uncertain. This effect comes from the fabric’s dry matte finish “that absorbs light to great effect.” Available in 11 colorways, the textile colors include great metal tones that look like gold, copper, silver, and pewter, as well as some intense colors such as orange, blue, and periwinkle.
  • Robinson: New for 2013, Robinson is a horizontal herringbone pattern available in 12 colorways. This versatile upholstery fabric—made of 83% Rayon, 15% Polyester, and 2% Nylon—is functional, handsome, and durable: “Woven with an independently unrefined chenille yarn that deliberately enhances its overall charm, Robinson is bolstered with a slight backing for added stability.” In rich neutrals, Robinson works well in hospitality spaces and corporate headquarters. Clients seeking a bold dash of color can opt for Robinson in Hindscarth, a luscious warm red, or Fells, a divine chocolate brown.

Joseph Noble textiles are part of the interiors of notable projects across the United States. The company’s upholstery and drapery fabrics can be found at The W Hotel in New York, the Getty Museum in Malibu, and the American Airlines Admirals Club in Chicago.
