Founded over 27 years ago by Jim Dates and Allan Weiser, Datesweiser started doing business out of a three-car garage. Headquartered in Buffalo, New York, the company now combines an artisan workforce with technology-driven manufacturing. With products represented in large corporate firms across most major cities in North America, Datesweiser has grown to become a leader in office furniture.
-
Custom—
Datesweiser develops personalized custom solutions for offices of varying sizes. Working closely with its clients, the company responds to client needs, designing products as varied as extra large conference tables and credenzas that accommodate computer and AV systems “while enabling necessary ventilation.” Datesweiser’s client list includes top companies in many fields, including Walt Disney.

Highline—
The Highline Collection is defined by its metal legs, which become a linear and geometric design element. The most dramatic piece is the Credenza, with metal legs that wrap completely around the piece, almost like a gift box wrapped with a bow. Credenzas, which can be anywhere from eight feet long to “whatever is needed,” can be filled with drawers, doors, or open accessory boxes. The Highline Conference Table sits on rectangular-shaped metal legs that peep out from the top of the table “as if the legs were penetrating the top.” Metal hatch doors disguise power boxes and other wires. Highline furniture is available with tops in glass, wood, marble, or Corian. Metal elements are made in polished chrome, satin nickel, or oil-rubbed bronze.

XO—
In order “to revolutionize the way America works,” Datesweiser invented the XO line of modular office furniture. Winner of Best of NeoCon Gold, XO is both technologically innovative and eminently versatile. The pieces work via “a skin and skeleton system” that combines wood and veneers with metal, glass, laminate, granite, and slate using “a light, lambent aluminum frame.” To further enhance XO’s modularity, the elements are put together with keyholes in the backs of the vertical panels instead of glue: “This gives the furniture the ability to keep changing because stations are not set in place.” In addition to the original desking system, the XO line now includes modular office stations, desks, dividing walls, and technology-integrated conference tables, which are a Datesweiser specialty.
From its custom capabilities to its well-known, award-winning collections, Datesweiser offers products for companies of any size. From lecterns and credenzas to meeting tables and casegoods, Datesweiser strives “to create a culture of developing exacting technology, visual beauty, and gracious service.”
