Coalesse is the millennial answer to the merging of life and work. The company designs and manufactures task and guest chairs, desks and conference tables, stacking and café chairs, stools, indoor/outdoor furniture and accessories.

Description

A Steelcase company, Coalesse is also a philosophy for a new age: “Our name signifies coming together and we make a direct connection between professional work settings and lifestyle through our award-winning furnishings for office, home and other work/life destinations.” Dedicated to designing within the evolving context of technology, work styles, and social patterns, Coalesse offers flexible solutions for office and home environments. Known for its collaborations with the world’s top designers, Coalesse has won many awards, including Best of NeoCon and Good Design Awards.

  • Emu— Designed by Arik Levy, the Emu Pattern Collection includes stackable chairs, benches, and tables—“all featuring a distinctive cut-out hexagonal pattern that creates a unique and airy feel.” Winner of a Good Design award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, Emu is sculptural furniture that stresses transparency and lightness. Available in five textured matte colors—red, white, black, green, and blue—Emu combines industrial durability with high style.
  • Hosu— Based on research that indicates that people like to lounge close to the floor and sprawl while using their hand-held digital devices, Hosu “is intended for any easygoing workplace, home offices included.” Presented at NeoCon 2012 and featured in the Home section of the New York Times, Hosu was designed by Patricia Urquiola. Meant to be comfortable and casual, since mobile work takes place in increasingly casual environments, Hosu is perfect for home offices, hotel rooms, university lounges, and creative businesses. Available as a single or double lounge, Hosu includes storage pockets and a cable pass-through, as well as a coordinating lumbar pillow. Hosu’s signature textured fabric was also designed by Patricia Urquiola.
  • Power Pod— The Technology Section of the Wall Street Journal gave Power Pod a great review: “Gadgets have a way of multiplying. The simplest solution is to keep a power strip on top of the desk, and the Power Pod is one of the few that's sleek enough to fit the bill.” A UL-listed portable power source and accessory tray, Power Pod is a handsome object that’s clever and intuitive. Available in Milk, a versatile white that works with virtually any décor, Power Pod gives tabletop access to six power outlets and storage. Equipped with an energy-saving on/off switch and a blinking light safety feature for connections to non-grounded outlets, Power Pod gives you the power you need in a compact and creative package.

Coalesse is a company that’s committed to sustainability. Their flagship showroom is LEED Gold, and they offer more than 90 SCS-certified products. With many international partner brands such as Carl Hansen & Søn (Denmark), EMU (Italy), Walter Knoll AG & Co. (Germany), and Viccarbe (Spain), Coalesse remains at the forefront of office design.
