A pioneer in the industry with unparalleled experience, Autex has manufactured polyester-based acoustic materials for more than 20 years. Our Interior Acoustics range is manufactured under strict ISO9001 & ISO14001 Quality & Environmental Systems and one of the most comprehensive Quality Assurance programs in the industry.
We operate an in-house Quality and Technical Laboratories in Auckland and Melbourne with dedicated staff testing to internationally recognized standards. This ensures complete confidence in our products both internally and externally.
All product claims are backed and certified by independent testing from reputable laboratories and are fully declared on our Product Data Sheets.
Our product is designed with only non-toxic ingredients to support health and wellbeing of building interiors. We aim to ensure all current and future Autex products contain no harmful chemicals. To achieve this, we use independent tools and verification of our product ingredients.
Alongside product manufacturing quality, Autex always takes our environmental responsibilities as a manufacturer very seriously. We are committed to applying sustainable practices across all aspects of our business, from manufacturing processes to safe, healthy working conditions for our staff. Autex is always working to build on our achievements and improve our environmental performance, in areas from energy efficiency and recycling to third-party product certification.
• Environmental management system; Autex has an independently audited environmental management system (EMS) in place to monitor and reduce the impact of our business on the environment. Under this system we set ourselves challenging environmental targets and undertake annual reviews to ensure our environmental performance is always improving.
Our manufacturing processes have completed and been awarded ISO14001 status recognizing the significant commitment Autex has made to sustainable business and manufacturing practices.
Our commitment includes transparently reporting our initiatives and progress under the GRI sustainability reporting framework.
• Energy efficiency and waste reduction; Autex aims to operate using the most energy-efficient processes possible and we are continuing to set reduced energy consumption targets. We use recycled and recyclable raw materials in our product manufacture wherever we can and are working to further increase the recycled material content of our products.
Autex Interior Acoustic products are manufactured with zero manufacturing waste going to landfill and an industry leading minimum 60% post-consumer recycled content. Off-cuts and trimmings are reprocessed back into the production process but are not included in our declared recycled content. We spend countless hours in the lab to improve our recycled content
Each year we divert around 1000 tons of plastic from landfill, that is the equivalent of 36 million recycled soda bottles. The accuracy of our recycled content claims is independently verified under ISO 14021, so when you use our product you can be 100% sure there is no greenwash. All our products are declared with minimum recycled content.
• Carbon Emissions; We actively monitor our carbon emissions and aim to be a net carbon neutral organization in the near future. In 2020, to support our customers in their goals to take climate action we began offering carbon neutral products by offsetting emissions through certified carbon credits. We consider this an investment in present and future generations and simply a cost of doing business.
• Internal environmental culture; Our environmental management system is part of the culture at Autex. Our staff are highly committed to helping achieve our environmental goals and striving for continuous improvement.
We provide ongoing staff education and training to continue to drive awareness and best environmental practice at all levels of our organization.
• Sustainable Supply Chain; We carefully select the best suppliers to ensure we deliver quality products which have a responsible social and environmental track record. We have a robust supply screening process and all suppliers are independently assessed for material toxicity, ecological toxicity and worker safety. Our Supplier Code of Conduct and Anti-Modern Slavery Policies are the foundation of our sustainable supply chain.
