Founded in 1987 by Nancy Epstein, who continues to serve as CEO, Artistic Tile is a family-run business based in Secaucus, New Jersey. Epstein travels internationally in search of the newest materials and trends “that have not been seen before in the United States”—what she terms themes. Epstein is known for innovation, a quality that has led Artistic Tile to win many design awards. The company is also known for its unique advertising campaigns, which drape models in clothing, jewelry, and accessories constructed from pieces of tile. In 2011, Artistic Tile acquired Waterfall Bathroom Furniture.

Tropique Collection —
Presenting “jewels from the sea,” the Tropique Collection uses natural nacre, the inner layer of pearl oysters and other shells. A thin veneer of iridescent nacre is backed with natural stone, creating tiles that “will peak your imagination and cultivate your vision.” Included in Tropique is Rivershell, a shimmering oval or hexagonal pattern that incorporates the opalescent material from fresh water clams.

Vetromarmi Collection —
The Vetromarmi Collection is “rooted in antiquity.” Products such as Fiori, Granada, Seville, and Valencia display delicate, intricate patterns that recall the architectural splendor of Italy and Southern Spain. Combining stone and glass, Vetromarmi tiles “bring products of permanence to your interior space in an eye catching, understated chic format.” In 2011, Granada received Interior Design magazine’s 2011 Best of Year Award.

In addition to its beautiful line of products, Artistic Tile is known for philanthropic endeavors and green initiatives. Recently, the company donated porcelain tiles for a Habitat for Humanity eco-friendly complex in Ocean Hill-Brownsville, Brooklyn. They also donated 120 tons of ceramic, concrete, and porcelain tiles to Women’s Housing & Economic Development Corporation (WHEDCo) for their new affordable housing complex in the Bronx. Artistic Tile recycles post-production scrap material, ships products in recycled boxes with biodegradable bubble wrap, and uses 100% filtered rainwater for cutting tile, which is housed in the company’s 110,000 square foot distribution center.
