Arper’s company ethos is driven by innovation, by a continual striving for the unprecedented and singular aesthetic—“an object that feels spontaneous while clearly the result of rigor and precision.” Indeed, the company has refined the notions of rigor and precision into a high art. Arper’s main manufacturing facility, located in Treviso Italy, is peopled by artists and artisans, by technicians and craftsmen in equal measure: “it is here that high-tech engineering and craftsmanship combine to create our products.”

Catifa—
Arper’s iconic Catifa Collection encompasses a broad range of chairs for lounge and office, each distinctive in their own right yet possessing a signature contemporary feel that identifies it with the line. Designed by the prominent firm of Lievore, Altherr & Molina, Catifa’s aesthetic range extends from the calm constraint of Catifa 53 (office chair in chrome steel on fixed pedestal base) to the classical Modernism of the All Wood Catifa (double curved wood shell on four legs) to the easy elegance of the Catifa 70 Lounger—“its slender, ethereal, delicate curve creates an intimate space for home or office.”

Pix—
Authored for Arper by Ichiro Iwasaki, Pix is a comprehensive line of Poufs and Ottomans for home or office. The vibrant, differently-sized, and multi-colored collection lends itself to inspired arrangement and spontaneous groupings, “providing a note of ease in interior design schemes for waiting or relaxation areas in collective or domestic settings.” Seen from on high, the creative and clever Pix resembles nothing so much as a casual smattering of disc-shaped candies in a rainbow of colors. Seen from up close, Pix is fun and functional—a soft and comfortable collection that lends interiors a sense of dynamism and youthful vigor.

Ginger—
The crisp, clear lines of the Ginger Café Table Collection are so smooth, so lean and lithe, that from a certain angle the distinctive tabletop appears to vanish into thin air. Designer Jean-Marie Massaud achieved this enhanced minimalism through the use of the exceptionally workable and impressively versatile polypropylene. Ideal for cafés, bars, and restaurants, Ginger comes in three heights (50, 74, and 105 cm). Options include round and square tops; four way bases in chromed or white aluminum; and tabletop colors in black, white, or gray.
Arper entered the new millennium as one of the most significant product innovators in A&D, and they have remained so into this second decade of the new century. Forever, “in pursuit of the essential,” the manufacturer’s products consistently synthesize high functionality with a distinctive aesthetic. This successful formula has garnered multiple industry awards, including the red dot communication design award (2012), the 22nd. Compasso d'Oro award (2011), and the ADI Index Design Award (2010). Arper matches their aesthetic and functional achievements with an impressive ethos of sustainability—“an environmental policy ranging from the management of the company (ISO 14001) to the transparent and honest communication of the environmental performance of our products.”
