Design: Charlotte Perriand
2011 (Year of drawing: 1940)
Description: a never before produced project by Charlotte Perriand from 1940: the Tokyo chaise longue, a re-interpretation in bamboo of the famous LC4. The designer originally conceived Tokyo when she lived and worked in Japan. A poetic synthesis between human rationalism and nature. An organic shape; sinuous and inviting. A piece of design history, superbly expressing Cassina's time-honored mastery of woodwork. A dynamic vision, where all elements combine in perfect harmony, to be admired and enjoyed on the veranda, terrace and outdoors.
The seat of this chaise longue is composed of 12 curved wooden strips. The joining elements connecting the strips to the bars below are satin brass studs. The base is in solid wood.
The mattress comes with water-draining polyurethane upholstery and stain resistant polyester yarn coated in PVC treated with an exclusive formulation, called Glen Raven, guaranteed totally mould resistant and ISO 9001 certified.
Every model comes with a completely water-repellent cover for the winter season.
