THE ANT
ARNE JACOBSEN 1952
THE ANT with three legs was originally designed for Novo Nordisk, a Danish healthcare company and shown for the first time at Fritz Hansen's 80th birthday in 1952, About 3 months later the chair was shown at the spring exhibition at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art. This became Arne Jacobsen‰s international break trough as an architect and the Ant is one of the prominent icons of the collection today.
